Larger ladies feel ‘insulted by rude shop assistants’, survey finds

A THIRD of female shoppers believe they have been insulted by shop assistants who were pushy, unhelpful or made unflattering comments about their size, it has been claimed.

More than three out of every ten consumers, who were all members of slimming group Weight Watchers, reported the behaviour of shop staff was so rude they left without buying anything.

One woman claimed she was told she “looked like a frump” and another was told she ought to find a garment that “covers you up more”.

According to the Daily Mail, the survey found 40 per cent of the women condemned assistants as regularly “rude and unhelpful”.
